Hong Kong Chamber of Commerce in China ("HKCCC") Introduction
HKCCC was established in 1993 with approval of the Ministry of Commerce. The Hong Kong Chamber is the fifth officially registered foreign chamber of commerce in China following the registration of USA, French, Italian and Japanese chambers.
HKCCC is a non-profit making body formed to promote business and social interaction. Since its establishment, several hundred companies and many individuals have participated in HKCCC's activities.
The objectives of HKCCC include:
The promotion of economic and trade cooperation as well as cultural exchanges between Hong Kong and Mainland China;
The strengthening of ties between members and the relevant Chinese government departments and corporations; and
The promotion of business, economic and cultural interchanges between HKCCC and the other foreign chambers of commerce in China.

HKCCC offers the following services:
Information services
Through a regular newsletter, members are briefed on chamber activities, the latest developments in government policies, trade and economic updates as well as tips on upcoming cultural and recreational events. In many instances, the Chamber is also able to gain first-hand access to information released by various government authorities and HKCCC will forward this information to members through communication channels.
Business Activities
To promote members' business interaction and understanding of the various economic and trade policies, the Chamber organizes seminars and meetings. Very often, Chinese officials and professionals are invited to make presentation. Other business activities include:
Economic and trade missions: The Chamber facilitates members' participation in business promotion functions organized or sponsored by Hong Kong as well as Chinese central and provincial entities.
Business visits: The Chamber organizes visits for members and guests to gain first-hand information on leading commercial and industrial enterprises.
Public Relations
Every year, the Chamber organizes a number of social functions for members to meet with government officials and the media for PR purposes.
Cultural and recreational activities
Through various recreational functions, the Chamber enriches members' leisure activities and promotes interaction between members. Recreational functions include golf tournament, picnics and outings, festival nights, annual dinner and sport days, etc.
Other services
Among other services, the Chamber solicits for HKCCC members only, price discounts from restaurants and other service establishments.
Membership Categories
Corporate Members
Hong Kong companies with an office in Mainland China, of Hong Kong residents/companies with substantial investment or business interest in and enterprise which has an office in Mainland China, may join HKCCC as Corporate Member in the name of the office in Mainland China.
Each Corporate Member must designate an employee as its “Authorized Representative”. Each Corporate Member is entitled to nominate a number of other employees as “Corporate Associate Members”.
Corporate Members have the right to vote. While ballots are conducted on an “one member one vote” basis, each Corporate Member is counted as 2 votes in determining the result of the ballot.
Authorized Representative of Corporate Members has the right to stand for election to become the HKCCC Chairman or other members and office bearers of the HKCCC Executive Committee.
Individual Members
Hong Kong identity card holders who reside and work in Mainland China may join HKCCC as Individual Members.
Individual Members have the right to vote. Except for the position of HKCCC Chairman, Individual Members have the right to stand for election to become members and office bearers of the HKCCC Executive Committee.
Associate Members
Hong Kong residents and institutions that do not meet the above membership criteria, and other Chinese residents, may apply to join HKCCC as Associate Members.
Associate Members do not have the right to vote and the right for election to become members of the HKCCC Executive Committee.
